Chantel’s Story

My name is Chantel C, and I am an infertility patient. I live in Western Nebraska. I live here with my husband and bonus daughter, among many pets. We do not have any children of our own, but we enjoy every minute we have with our little gal.

We were first diagnosed with unexplained fertility, and then I was diagnosed with PCOS and a severe bicornuate uterus. We were in our late 30’s when we started to pursue treatments. We hit many barriers, but one of the biggest ones was financial. Our insurance coverage ended at the point we received a diagnosis. None of the required treatments were covered. After 5 years of trying, testing, and procedures my husband and I have chosen to no longer pursue infertility treatments, and live without children of our own. My bonus daughter completes our family, and we are so grateful for her. I am passionate about changing the way the world looks at infertility, bringing awareness to the issues, and improving the laws that govern our healthcare. I want to help remove barriers for future generations.

By day I am a small business owner, and also work part time as a Housing Specialist for a Domestic and Sexual Violence organization. In my free time I volunteer with RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association as an Advocacy Day Volunteer, run a local infertility support group, as well as sit on the Board here at Conceive Nebraska. I am passionate about changing the way the world looks at infertility, and improving the laws that govern our healthcare.
